It has taken a few days to write as I was a little under the weather. No…actually I was a LOT under the weather, but I think it’s finally clearing up. I completed my first full week of teaching classes last week and it was great! The students here are so very nice and polite.

Tuesday was Happy Teachers Day! Such a wonderful concept. The students give cards and gifts to their teachers to show their appreciation for their dedication to teaching. Teachers in China are held in very high esteem. It’s a practice that should be considered in America where the value of teachers seem to be held at a very low level.

I also got introduced to a Muslim restaurant (Yippee!). The significance is that Muslim restaurants in China are known for their cleanliness and for those who are concerned, no pork products would be served.

More to come over the next couple of days….including more pictures!
